I've recently began using del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, and other web 2.0 social networking tools to promote my photography (and other interests).
I became more interested in all of this after discovering (and signing up for) the Thirty Day Challenge.
Photography is probably a "too much competition area" though. It will be interesting to see if I can use the techniques revealed in the challenge to promote my photography, or if I'll end up using a different "niche" for the challenge...
